My passion for nutrient dense nourishment and holistic healing comes from my own health journey and my experience within the traditional model of ‘sick care’. Starting in 2011, I had seen many doctors and specialists, and no one could give me an answer to why I was feeling the way I was. The majority of my teen years were spent at doctor’s offices, house-bound or in the emergency room. I experienced debilitating abdominal pain, poor gut function, fatigue, adrenal dysfunction, depression, severe anxiety, and horrible menstrual cycles. These symptoms completely disrupted my life. Three years and seven different doctors later, I felt hopeless. I was told that my only option was pain management medication and biofeedback therapy to cope with the symptoms I was experiencing daily. I was considering these treatments when a family friend recommended that I take a more holistic approach using nutritional therapy. I started to do my own research and work with holistic practitioners and realized that what was on my plate and a lot of my everyday habits were directly affecting the health of my body. Once I gave my body the support it needed, I was finally able to see relief and positive changes. I have come to understand that there is no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to our health - that healthcare should be individualized and based on a nutrient-dense diet. I stopped chasing symptoms, looked to the root cause and I started to see incredible results that drastically improved my life. I believe lasting results start to happen when we shift the paradigm toward holistic and preventative care by encouraging real food nourishment and healthy lifestyle practices over band aid solutions that just lead us to be sicker in the long run. In 2019, I became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner so that I could help others experience sustainable changes in their health & wellbeing.

My goal is to educate and empower you to tune in to your body's innate intelligence, nourish yourself with real food, and cultivate healthy lifestyle practices for sustainable health and wellness. What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy uses a holistic approach to health by addressing the root cause of symptoms by correcting any imbalances and deficiencies. As an NTP, I believe that the body has an innate ability to heal itself and that symptoms are messages from the body asking for support. If we give the body the support it needs, we can start to see restorative shifts toward optimal function. No more chasing symptoms or band-aid solutions, just a root-cause approach for sustainable health and wellbeing.

At Nourishing Roots, my primary focus is to give the body the support it needs to restore balance and optimal function. Using various functional assessments, we can evaluate different nutrient needs and imbalances throughout the body and support these with nutrient-dense real food, tailored supplementation, and holistic lifestyle shifts. My goal is to empower and support you in making these adjustments so that you can support your body with what it needs and achieve your health goals for a vibrant life.

Nutrient-Dense Food

This is the foundation of nutritional therapy. Nutrient-dense food is medicine and what we choose to eat, plays an important role in how the body functions. If what we are putting in isn’t supplying what we need, we start to see dysfunction. My goal is to help you silence the noise of conflicting nutrition information and educate you on how to properly nourish your body - no more trendy ‘diets’, just real, nutrient-dense food.

Lifestyle Shifts

Our health is dictated by our daily habits. Sleep, stress, movement, emotional health, and our environment all play a crucial role in a sustainable, healthy life. Our whole body is connected so it’s imperative that we address how you go about your day-to-day in order to see real, sustainable results.

Tailored Supplementation

Poor diet, environmental toxins, depleted soil, and all the stressors of our modern society, contribute to a multitude of nutrient deficiencies. These deficiencies contribute to imbalances and dysfunction throughout the body which can cause a lot of the pesky symptoms we have come to accept as ‘normal’. Utilizing a variety of functional evaluations, we can assess what specific nutrient deficiencies your body may have and work to correct those using targeted supplementation.
